It is effective in cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as strong against knots as premium Roomba models like the j7 and I6.
The Roomba is simple to use. It has three buttons on its top cover: 'Clean' launches a cleaning cycle and 'Dock' allows it to be put back in its charging station, and 'Spot Clean' activates the targeted cleaning. It can be controlled via an app for smartphones that allows you to schedule and stop/start cycles, and also adjust settings. You can also pair it with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
This vacuum cleaner is slower than some others, but it is able to be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It has a large dustbin, which is great for reducing the frequency with which you must empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which allow you to program the robot to stay out of certain areas or stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from getting stuck.
It's not the most effective in its price range but it's better than the majority of other options. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning performance than the Roomba 694, and it's able to clean carpets with a low pile and bare. It also has a more durable battery and a cleaner route. It also feels more durable and has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, is less expensive to own over the course of its life, and charges faster than the 694.
It's also worth looking at other models that are more expensive from the iRobot line, like the 981 or the v7. Shark RV1001AE IQ
This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a good job on low-pile carpet and hard flooring. The combination brush is able to reach corners and edges and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt embedded in the middle of the pile carpet. The IQ has a small footprint and also a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to change floor levels on the map or set no-go zones, you'll need to manually reset it to do this, which can be quite an inconvenience.
The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, but it does not have no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing system of the app permits for better maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective, although it can get stuck on rug tassels.
In our tests during our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair well, clearing an impressive amount of debris from floors that were not bare and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpet, where it struggled to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able to navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces, and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved however, it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan and is better at navigating around obstacles. It comes with a mopping tool that can remove sticky mess. On the other hand, the iRobot is more durable and has fewer components that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can even resume cleaning from where it left off if it has run out of battery before finishing the job. The iRobot can be controlled by voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S by eufy isn't exactly the most feature-rich robot vacuum available however it offers powerful cleaning capabilities at the price of. It's designed for those who don't require a complicated mapping system or an app to control the device. This robot can run for more than an hour and includes a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.
The 11S is slim and sleek, and features a tempered-glass upper deck that appears like the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a refreshing departure from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
The eufy11S performed well in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from hard flooring. However, it struggled to give medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. The device is capable to bump into furniture and people along its route. However, it is able to detect obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstruction. It is then possible to manually steer the device around the obstacle and get it to work again.
The BoostIQ mode is another great feature of the Eufy11S. It lets you set the robot up to automatically adjust suction strength based on the floor type and the level of mess. The remote control makes it simple to guide the 11S to the desired place.
Single Room Mode check here is a great option if you have little furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.
